ART: PIXEL ART
Students were introduced to the art technique of Pixel Art. While watching a step by step video, students followed along to duplicate the picture on the video. Students used little x's to carefully mark the outline of the shape followed by colouring in using pencil crayons.
DRAMA/LANGUAGE: READER'S THEATRE
Students worked in small groups to perform a fairy tale script.
The different fairy tales included:
- Princess and the Pea
- Rapunzel
- Little Red Hen
- Goldilocks
- Little Red Riding Hood
We discussed what makes a successful performance:
- volume
- fluency
- body language
- expression
- speed
- practice
- pronunciation
- following along with the script
MATH: DATA MANAGEMENT POSTERS
To help prepare for our Data Management test, students worked in partners to create a poster/anchor chart about one specific topic. Some students displayed the success criteria for different types of graphs and some students displayed how to analyse data by calculating the mode. median, or range.
HALLOWEEN FUN!
Thank you to Sarah for organizing the activities, materials and parent volunteers for our Halloween class party! Thank you to Maria, Eva and Dave for helping out during the party, and thank you to the parents who donated snacks and plates/napkins. The students had an awesome time! Students took part in activities such as mummy wrapping, building the tallest free standing structure with playdough and toothpicks, I Spy, and guessing jars.
